The three Grandpa Trees were the pioneers of Mudon. Even if they have lost count of their rings in the trunk, they manage to cope with the games of the most energetic children in the neighborhood. They do not like giving telling-offs, but they love telling stories because after all, they are the keepers of the all stories of the people in Mudon. This is why there is always something to learn from them.

Three different voices for the grandpas: old and wise timbre with a good-natured tone.

In this film I’ll use longer sequence shots, focusing on context, environment/amenities and characters, but keeping the trees as a constant.

I would suggest reviewing some of the voiceover lines together to make sure that we won't spoil the character identity too early and to comment on every scene properly.

    Starting from the top of a tree, following the light filtering through the branches, we go down the trunk.

    description
    With a pull-back we reveal a little smiling girl that runs behind the tree to hide.

    description
    We go ahead toward another kid with a water gun: he’s chasing her.

  • Scene #4

    description
    The kids keep running together and both end up joining the picnic that the parents are having a few meters away. In the background, we can see the architecture of Mudon.

    We see the girl slowly closing her eyes, and reopening them under another tree, in a different area of Mudon. With a pull-back we see that on the other side of the tree there is a boy reading a book. The kids look to each other and smile.

    description
    We follow a little girl for a few steps as she runs to hug a tree in a different green area in Mudon. A gentle gust of wind makes a leaf come off, we follow it with a pull back. The leaf that flies away and we spread out master shot of the tree, where we reveal that he’s the one talking.
